On August 13, 2022, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 600 block of Brandon Avenue for the report of a male who had been assaulted.

Officers from the East District attended and located two adult male victims, 57 and 54-years-old, respectively. The 57-year-old male, who suffered a minor injury, did not require medical attention, and the 54-year-old male was uninjured. As of note: Both victims are employed as Winnipeg Transit operators. They were in uniform and off-duty at the time of the incident.

Through their investigation, officers believe the suspect approached the first victim (54) as he sat in his parked vehicle and shattered the driver-side window in an unprovoked manner. This victim summoned assistance from a passing Transit bus, and the second victim (57), a passenger on the bus, disembarked to come to his aid. The suspect proceeded to assault both victims before he fled. He remains outstanding.

The investigation is continuing.
