On August 6, 2022, at 5:05 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 600 block of Stella Avenue for a report of a male that had been robbed and stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers located an injured 48-year-old male and administered emergency medical care – including the use of a chest seal. He was transported to a hospital in unstable condition and was later upgraded to stable condition.

It is believed that the male had come from the 300 block of Blake Street, where he was approached by an unknown male suspect (armed with a machete) and was robbed of his bicycle and personal property. The suspect then struck him with the machete and fled.

This incident is being investigated by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
