On July 31, 2022, at approximately 2:30 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the Wolseley neighbourhood for a report of a break-in where a male suspect had committed an indecent act.

It is believed that the male had entered the house through an unlocked door when he was confronted inside by two adult female residents. He entered a room where she was attempting to hide, pushed the door open and committed an indecent act. He then tried to force himself onto the victim; however, the resident was able to fend him off. The male fled prior to police arrival. Several police units subsequently searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 5’10” to 6’ tall, with a small build, a wide stance/gait, and dirty blonde “reddish” hair that was short on the sides but longer on top. He was wearing a dark-coloured t-shirt and dark-coloured cargo-style pants. He also had a cigarette in his mouth during the incident.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call the Sex Crimes Unit at 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
