Assault with a Weapon – Arrest: C22-165702

On July 24, 2022, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to Portage/Camden for a passenger threatening to stab the driver while on a city bus.

An adult female boarded an eastbound Portage Avenue bus a few minutes earlier and began to cause a disturbance. When the bus driver stopped the bus and requested she leave, she pulled out a knife and attempted to stab the driver around the protective plastic barrier.

The driver ordered all the passengers to exit to safety, and he jumped through the driver’s side window. The suspect fled on foot.

Police located the suspect in possession of the weapon at Portage/Camden. A Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW-Taser) was deployed, and she was taken into custody. An additional knife was located in her possession.

Destiny Dawn HARRY (41) of Winnipeg was charged with:

- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon x 2
- Fail to Comply with Release Order.

She was detained in custody.
