On July 24, 2022, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to The Forks grounds for the report of a group of people who had been assaulted.

Officers from the Central District attended and located three people suffering from the effects of being sprayed with an unknown substance. One of the accused, who fled, was arrested and placed in custody by officers following a short foot pursuit. A 12-year-old male, 15-year-old female and an 18-year-old female were transported to hospital and were released.

Two suspects are outstanding.

A 17-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:

- Assault with a Weapon x 3
