On July 16, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to the report of an armed robbery that occurred in the 300 block of Kennedy Street.

Central District officers responded and, through their investigation, identified a male suspect. At approximately 2:00 p.m., with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, officers attended to a residence in the 300 block of Kennedy Street and safely placed a male in custody.

Officers recovered the stolen property, a firearm (determined to be a replica handgun), and several other weapons.

Through their investigation, officers believe the victims, a 40-year-old female, and a 42-year-old male, attended the location to sell Playstation components they had placed on an open-source social media platform. Investigators believe the suspect met the approaching male, brandished a firearm, robbed him of his property, and fled to a nearby residence.

The suspect and victims were previously unknown to one another.

The stolen property was returned to the victims.

Tristan Blaze Fury CHORNOBY, 18, of Winnipeg, has been charged with the following offences:

- Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
- Possession of a Weapon x 3

He was detained in custody.

This incident is being investigated by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
