On July 15, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 1300 block of McPhillips Street for the report of a male who had been robbed.
Officers from the North District attended and located an adult male suffering from the effects of being sprayed with an unknown substance. The 23-year-old victim sustained a minor injury for which he did not require medical assistance.
Through their investigation, officers believe the three suspects approached the victim while sitting in his parked vehicle. After spraying him with an unknown substance, the suspects fled with his vehicle and, shortly therafter, were involved in a motor vehicle collision with another motorist at Carruthers Avenue and Sinclair Street.
Officers located two of the suspects and placed them under arrest without incident.
Two 19-year-old males from Winnipeg are facing the charge of Robbery. Both were released on undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
A 15-year-old male suspect has been identified but remains outstanding.
The victim and suspects were not previously known to one another.
The investigation is continuing.
