Robbery/Assault with a Weapon – Investigation: C22-151734

On July 11, 2022, at 9:01 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 600 block of Balmoral Street for a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers located two injured individuals and began administering medical care. A female in her 50s was transported to a hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition. A male in his 50s was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

It is believed that the two victims were bystanders in the area when they observed a female suspect attempting to rob an elderly lady. The pair intervened and were assaulted (with a weapon) by the suspect – with both victims suffering significant injuries. The suspect then fled.

This incident is being investigated by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
