Carjacking – Investigation: C22-152182

On July 9, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Grant Avenue and Wilton Avenue after several callers reported seeing a female jump from a moving vehicle. It was also reported that that female had been the victim of a carjacking.

Upon arrival, officers located an injured female victim (in her 20s). She was subsequently transported to a hospital in stable condition. It is believed that the female had been parked in the 1200 block of Grant Avenue when confronted by a male suspect who entered the vehicle and assaulted her.

The suspect is described as a male with tanned skin, 23-35 years old, approximately 6’0” tall with a medium stoky build, a shaved head (that was growing out), a shaved beard and unknown clothing.

The stolen vehicle was later located unoccupied in the 900 block of Carter Street.

This incident is being investigated by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
