On June 9, 2022, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the intersection of Notre Dame Avenue and Arlington Street for the report of a male who had been assaulted at a Winnipeg Transit bus stop.

Officers from the Central District located the 55-year-old victim at the bus stop suffering from multiple injuries. He was transported to hospital and subsequently released.

The suspect, who had remained at the scene, was safely placed under arrest by officers without incident.

Through their investigation, officers believed the victim was standing at the bus stop when he was attacked without provocation. The victim sustained multiple upper body injuries as a result of the attack, which required medical attention.

The accused and the victim were previously unknown to one another.

Nathaniel Aaron PITTMAN, 26, of Winnipeg, has been charged with the following offence:

- Assault Cause Bodily Harm

He was detained in custody.
