Robbery with Firearm – Arrests: C22-122031

On June 6, 2022, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a gun call in the 300 block of Powers Street.

Officers met with the two teenage victims, who indicated they were walking south on Powers Street when two unknown males standing in the front yard of a residence called them over. When the teens approached, the suspects, brandishing a gun and bear spray, demanded their property. One of the victims was struck in his face with the gun, while the other victim was punched. The suspects took the property, fleeing into the residence, and the victims ran for help. They did not require medical attention at the time.

As backup units from the North District and the Tactical Support Team arrived, bystanders in the area pointed to the house. The two suspects were located in the back lane and safely taken into custody. A firearm was not recovered.

A 15-year-old youth male from Winnipeg faces the following charges: - Armed Robbery Using a Firearm x 2 - Fail to Comply with Undertaking x 3 He was detained in custody.

A 16-year-old youth male from Winnipeg faces the following charges: - Carrying Concealed Weapon or Prohibited Device - Fail to Comply with Undertaking x 2 He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
