Firearm Search Warrant – Arrests: C22-118564

In June 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns & Gangs Unit began a firearms investigation believed to involve a residence in the North End.

On June 5, 2022, the Guns & Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and Community Support Units from Central and East Districts, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 700 Block of Dufferin Avenue.

As a result of the investigation, four adults were taken into custody. The following items were seized:

- an improvised firing device (zip-gun)
- various .22 caliber ammunition

Gerald Nathaniel TROUT, 36, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

- Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition
- Possess of a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 6

He was detained in custody.

Rick Edward FLETT, 24, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

- Possession of a Weapon
- Fail to Comply Condition of Release Order x 2

He was detained in custody.

A 32-year old female, from Peguis First Nation, is facing the following charge:

- Possession of a Weapon

She was released on an Undertaking.

A 32-year old female, of Winnipeg, is facing the following charge:

- Possession of a Weapon

She was released on an Undertaking.
