Homicide Update - Arrest: C22-89437

As previously released:

The Homicide Unit took over an investigation regarding an adult male who was shot and killed inside a hotel bar in the 300 block of Smith Street shortly after midnight on May 1, 2022.

The deceased victim was identified as Ryan Mitchell SPENCE, 39, of Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Police Homicide detectives identified a suspect in the murder as Christopher Curtis BONE, 31, of Winnipeg.

On May 10, 2022, a Canada-wide warrant for Second Degree Murder was issued for BONE.

Update:

On May 17, 2022, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Tactical Support Team, with the assistance of General Patrol officers and K-9, arrested BONE at a residence in the 400 block of Sargent Avenue.

The Homicide Unit has charged BONE with the following offences:

- Second Degree Murder
- Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance (Methamphetamine)

BONE remains in custody.
