Drug Offence – Arrest: C22-100320

On May 12, 2022, at approximately 9:30 p.m, members of the Guns & Gangs Unit initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operating without headlights in the 700 block of Dufferin Avenue.

Officers approached the vehicle and noted packaging materials in plain view indicative of drug trafficking. Officers placed the male driver and the female passenger under arrest for drug-related offences.

A search of both suspects and the vehicle produced the following items:

- Approximately 10 oz. of Fentanyl ($35,000 approximate street value)
- Approximately $26,000 in cash
- Airsoft Replica Handgun
- Packaging Materials and Drug Paraphernalia

A 37-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of a Weapon

A 28-year-old female of Winnipeg is facing the following charge:

- Possession of a Weapon

Both were released on undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
