Homicide – Arrest: C22-12105

As previously released:

On January 17, 2022, at approximately 7:15 p.m., General Patrol members from the North District responded for suspicious circumstances reported at an apartment in the 800 block of Main Street.

Officers located a seriously injured male and provided emergency medical care. He was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Homicide Unit took over the investigation, and the deceased has been identified as Joseph Matthew MYRAN, 36, of Winnipeg.

Update:

On February 8, 2022, members of the Homicide Unit arrested and charged a 27-year-old male, Jordan James WALTON of Winnipeg, for Second Degree Murder regarding the murder of Joseph Matthew MYRAN. He has been detained in custody.

Investigators determined the accused WALTON and the deceased MYRAN were not previously known to each other when MYRAN was stabbed during a dispute between the two men.
