Winnipeg, MB - All civic offices are closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

Recycling/Garbage Collection

For all customers with City collection service (single-family homes, multi-family residential buildings, businesses), there is no recycling, garbage or yard waste collection on Remembrance Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

The following schedule changes are in effect for the week of November 9, 2015 for those customers that normally have collection on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Winnipeg Transit

On Wednesday, November 11, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

As it has done for years, Winnipeg Transit will once again be observing a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in honour of Remembrance Day. At 11:00 a.m., Transit operators will pull over and stop their buses at safe locations to recognize one minute of silence.

Also in honour of Remembrance Day, the route/destination signs on the front of buses will scroll with the message “Lest We Forget” in addition to the usual route information all day on November 11.

Libraries

All Winnipeg Public Library branches will be closed on Wednesday, November 11.

Online services, including downloadable eBooks, streaming movies and music, catalogue searching, and holds/renewals - are available online anytime at Winnipeg Public Library.

Leisure Centres

All Leisure Centres are closed on Wednesday, November 11.

Swimming Pools

All City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, with the exception of the Pan Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.

The Pan Am Pool will be open 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Animal Services Agency

The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Wednesday, November 11.

Cemeteries

Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Remembrance Day.
