Released: January 30, 2018 at 11:05 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg has unveiled the official website for the 2018 City of Winnipeg Municipal and School Boards Election.

Eligible voters will have the opportunity to cast ballots for the offices of Mayor, Councillor and School Trustee when they head to the polls on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.

In advance of Election Day, the City is encouraging residents to check out its brand new election website at winnipeg.ca/Election2018. The website covers a wide range of topics, including information on who is eligible to vote, how to cast a ballot, advance voting opportunities, and all relevant legislation pertaining to the election. The website will be updated continuously over the next ten months as more information becomes available.

The easy-to-use website will also be useful for candidates seeking to run for office. Information regarding the registration and nomination processes, as well as legislation on campaign expenses and campaign signage can all be found on the site.

“Our goal is to provide as much information as early as possible so that potential candidates and the public understand the process of running for public office, and to help engage voters early in the process,” said Marc Lemoine, Senior Election Official.

More information is available by visiting winnipeg.ca/Election2018 or by contacting 311.
