Residential streets in snow zones C, F, H, K, N, S, U will be plowed from 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning until 7:00 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB - The public is advised that the Residential Parking Ban has been declared and plowing is scheduled to improve the overall condition of residential streets starting Thursday morning.

Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7 and continuing until 7:00 p.m., plowing operations will be conducted on residential streets (P3s) snow zones C, F, H, K, N, S, U.

Starting at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, residents of snow zones B, J, L, M, O, Q, T, V will need to move their vehicles as plowing will be underway in those zones until 7:00 a.m. Friday, March 8.

Residents are encouraged to visit knowyourzone.winnipeg.ca or call 311 to confirm their residential snow zone letter of the alphabet, and to determine when their snow zone is scheduled to be cleared. The public is also encouraged to sign up in advance for email or Twitter notifications through knowyourzone.winnipeg.ca to find out when designated snow zones are scheduled for plowing.

For the residential streets that are scheduled, residents are urged to find an alternate place to park such as an off-street driveway or parking lot, or a nearby street that is not currently scheduled for clearing. This will help the snow clearing operation run smoothly and will prevent you from being ticketed and towed.

Vehicles parked in violation of the residential parking ban will receive a $150 ticket ($75 if paid early), and may be towed to a nearby street that is not scheduled to be plowed or that has already been plowed. If you believe your vehicle may have been towed due to the residential parking ban, please contact 311 for assistance in locating it.

If motorists are parking on a residential street temporarily during the ban such as to attend an appointment or visit friends and family, they are advised to check if that street is scheduled to be plowed at that time.

No other winter parking bans are in place at this time.

Motorists are reminded to drive to road conditions and to use extreme caution when driving near any plowing or salting/sanding equipment.

Plowing operations are continuing in accordance with the City Council approved Snow Clearing and Ice Control Policy, which can be found online at winnipeg.ca/publicworks/snow/snow-clearing-policy.stm.

For information on snow zones, residents can contact 311, open 24 hours every day, by phone at 311 or by email at 311@winnipeg.ca.
