Winnipeg Transit introduces new “real time” passenger information services
WINNIPEG - June 23, 2010 - In September 2009, Winnipeg Transit completed installation of new “iBUS” technology on its bus fleet. iBUS uses GPS-based automatic vehicle location and communication systems to monitor the location of each bus in relation to its schedule and to automatically report schedule deviations to live databases at Transit’s Control Centre.
Railway crossing closure on Saskatchewan Avenue between Empress Street and St. James Street
WINNIPEG - June 22, 2010 - The public is advised that Saskatchewan Avenue will be completely closed to westbound and eastbound traffic this week for the reconstruction of the railway crossing between Empress Street and St. James Street. Saskatchewan Avenue will be closed to through traffic on Tuesday, June 22 and will be reopened on Friday, June 25 at 7:00 a.m.
