Missing Person – Diane JOHNSON C16-130275 - Located

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 60 year old female, Diane JOHNSON.

JOHNSON was last seen on Friday, June 24th at 9:30 a.m. in the area of St. James near Polo Park.

JOHNSON is described as Caucasian, 5’3” tall, medium build, salt and pepper shoulder length hair. JOHNSON was last seen wearing a baby blue t-shirt and carrying a black backpack.

Police are concerned for JOHNSON’S well-being and are asking anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.

Children Safe - Mother in Custody
   
The Winnipeg Police Service is very pleased to acknowledge that Montana and Josh GIESBRECHT are now in care and safe as of yesterday, early evening. Sandra GIESBRECHT is also in custody and being processed accordingly.
   
Previously, the Winnipeg Police Service requested the public’s assistance in locating, Sandra GIESBRECHT and her missing children, Montana and Josh GIESBRECHT.  They were last seen in the area of St. James on the evening of Monday, June 20, 2016. 
   
Since that time members of the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit have worked tirelessly to locate them.
   
On June 22, 2016, a Canada-wide warrant was issued for two counts of Abduction for the arrest of Sandra GIESBRECHT.
   
On June 24, 2016, officers acting on information, attended to the area of Amherst Street where Sandra was observed operating a Ford Expedition. Efforts to safely stop and contain the vehicle were made however, GIESBRECHT refused to comply, initiating a brief pursuit.
   
At approximately 5:25 p.m., GIESBRECHT and her children abandoned the vehicle at the rear of the first 100 block of Deer Lodge Place and fled on foot. Moments later, Sandra GIESBRECHT was arrested and her children were taken into care uninjured due to the efforts of the Missing Persons Unit, Child Abuse Unit and Patrol members.
   
Sandra GIESBRECHT, 44 years oldhas been charged with the following due to her alleged involvement:
   
Abduction Where No Custody Order x 2
Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
   
She has been remanded into custody.
