Homicide Investigation

On Saturday, April 24th, 2010 at approximately 4:00 am, Uniform members were dispatched to the area of Pritchard Ave and Powers St regarding a male stabbed.

Attending members located a 21 yr old male victim who was transported to hospital in critical condition and has succumbed to his injuries.

Several people have been detained regarding the incident and the Major Crimes Unit continues with the investigation, and no further details will be released at this time.

Stolen Vehicle/Hit and Run Accidents

On Saturday April 24th, 2010, at approximately 2:40 am a vehicle was stolen in the 400 block of Maryland, where the suspects had been involved in an altercation in a yard in that area. The suspects fled in the stolen vehicle, and continued on a crime spree where they were involved in a number of hit and run accidents, including in the area of Selkirk/Powers. At approximately 3:55 am, this vehicle rammed a police car in the area of Salter/Powers. A short police pursuit occurred, which was aborted, however the suspect vehicle had sustained enough damage that it became inoperable a short distance away and a number of persons were taken into custody from the vehicle. There were no serious injuries to the victims or suspects, no injuries to police.
