Marihuana Grow Operation

On the 27th of February, shortly after 8:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service Green Team conducted a search warrant at an address in the 300 block of Kirkfield Street. The search of this residence resulted in the seizure of 1025 marihuana plants with an estimated street value of $1,148,00.00.

A 47 year old male of Winnipeg was arrested and is facing charges of Producing Cannabis Marihuana and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking charges.

Fire

On February 27th, shortly before 8:00 a.m. police attended along with the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service to a house fire in the 300 block of Charles Street. Damage is estimated at over $100,000.00 and is currently being investigated by the Arson Task Force.

Lost Medication

Yesterday morning shortly before 10:00 a.m. a 60 year old female got off a City of Winnipeg Transit bus in the area of Kylemore Avenue and Osborne Street forgetting her purse on the bus. The purse contained approximately sixty pills of the following medication:

Arthrotec
Plaquinal
Mozec
Percocet
Oxycontin

Taken alone or in combination with alcohol could be fatal. Found medication can be turned in to any police station or hospital.

Robbery Arrest

On February 27th, 2006, just after 12:30 a.m. two males ordered a pizza to be delivered to a residence. When the lone delivery driver attended he was confronted by both males. It is alleged that one male pointed a handgun at the delivery driver, demanded and received the pizza, money, car keys and the victim's cell phone and fled the area.

Shortly after 4:45 a.m. the two males took a taxi cab to the area of Maryland Street and Notre Dame Avenue. It is alleged that the two males pointed a handgun at the driver, struck him in the face and demanded and received cash and fled the area.

A Winnipeg Police Service Canine unit upon searching the area was able to track the suspects to a yard in the 400 block of Furby Street and affect the arrest.

Shaun McGillivary, 20 years of age of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery with a Firearm X 2, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose X 2, Assault With a Weapon X 2 and Breach of Probation.

David Doiron, 22 years of age of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery with a Firearm X 2, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose X 2 and Assault with a Weapon X 2.
