Robbery Investigation

Around 4:20 a.m. a lone male, armed with a crow bar, entered the Shell Gas Bar in the 1100 block of St. Mary’s Rd. and robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are looking for a suspect described as: a white male, 24-25 years of age, 5’6” to 5”8” tall, average build, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, blue jeans, and running shoes.

The suspect was last seen running east from the store. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Major Crimes Unit at 986 6219 or Crime Stoppers at 786 8477.

 

Serious Motor Vehicle Collision Upgraded to Fatal Motor Vehicle Investigation

Yesterday the Winnipeg Police Service released information regarding a motor vehicle collision that occurred on June 5th, 2005 shortly after 11:50 p.m. at Portage Avenue and Wallasey Street.

Linda Rudnicki, 39 years of age of Winnipeg was taken to hospital in critical condition. Yesterday she succumbed to her injuries and passed away in hospital.

The Winnipeg Police Service continues to request the public’s assistance in locating a 2002-2004 Mustang GT, black or dark blue in color with a white racing stripe on the hood, no rear spoiler and a loud muffler.

Anyone with information regarding this vehicle or its driver is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service District # 2 Planned Response Unit at 986-2841.

 

Break, Enter & Theft Arrests

Between October 16th, 2004 and May 27th, 2005 eight different businesses and seven different residences in the City of Winnipeg were broken into. The Winnipeg Police Service Anti-Crime Unit investigated these offences.

William Dwayne Bradburn, 28 years of age of Winnipeg has been charged with Break Enter and Theft X 5, Break, Enter with Intent, and Attempt Break and Enter.

A 26 year old male is facing charges of Break, Enter and Theft X 2 and Possess Goods Obtained by Crime X 2. As well, a 22 year old female is facing charges of Possess Goods Obtained by Crime X 2.

A warrant has been issued for a fourth male, Steven Clifford Tyo, 28 years of age, of Winnipeg for Break, Enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence.

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of this male to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Anti-Crime Unit at 986-6049.

 

Winnipeg Middle School Incident

Yesterday, shortly after 10:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Pembina Highway and Markham Road in an erratic manner. This vehicle was followed to Southpark Drive where the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Police gave chase on foot and observed this male to be in possession of a 9mm handgun. This male was then observed to discard the weapon and enter a middle school in the 1800 block of Chancellor Drive. The weapon was immediately secured by attending officers.

In cooperation with the school their emergency response plan was instituted and all students where safely escorted to their classrooms. Members of the Winnipeg Police Service entered the school and located this male in hiding in ceiling tiles who was arrested without incident.

Alinote Milingita, 18 years of age of Winnipeg, has been charged with Break, Enter Dwelling House –Commit Indictable Offence X 7, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Ammunition, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm X 2, Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime, Drive Without a License, Breach of Probation, Mischief Under $5000.00, Fail to Comply with Condition of Recognizance.
