Robbery Suspect Arrested

At 5:50 AM Sunday morning the 7-11 store at 355 Henderson Hwy. was held up by a knife wielding male suspect who escaped on foot in possession of an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. A short time later, a WPS canine unit attended the scene and the police dog began to track the suspect’s route of escape through area back lanes and streets. At 6:18 AM a 16 year old male was taken into custody from a residence in the 300 block of Ottawa Ave. He remains in Police custody at this time and will be facing robbery and weapons charges.


Stabbing Suspect Arrested

At 7:05 PM Saturday night a 29 year old male victim contacted 911 indicating he had been stabbed in the back in the area of Ellice Ave. and Hargrave St. The victim was located in the area a short time later by attending police and ambulance members and he was conveyed to the HSC in unstable condition. Subsequent investigation has resulted in the arrest of a 26 year old female and she remains in custody at the Remand Center facing charges of Assault with a Weapon, Fail to Comply with a Recognizance x 3 and an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The victim has been upgraded to stable condition and suffered a single stab wound to his back.


Shooting Suspects Arrested

Following the previously reported shooting in the Point Douglas area on Friday evening, four male suspects -all previously known to Police- have been arrested by WPS investigators. A 22 year old male suspect is still being sought by Police and a warrant for Attempt Murder has been issued for his arrest. Two of the suspects were arrested in the city and the other two in Portage La Prairie on Saturday. The four presently in custody face numerous charges which include Attempt Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Robbery-Use of a Firearm and an assortment of weapons related charges. The rifle used in this incident was stolen from a 1995 break-in in the city and has been recovered. This investigation will continue Sunday and a full media release on this matter will be forthcoming on Monday morning.


Armed Robbery

At approx 9:02 PM, Saturday, January 17th two male suspects entered the Domo Gas Bar, 314 Wardlaw. They demanded cash from the clerk and implied they were armed. The suspects then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries. They are described as follows:

 #1: Native in appearance, mid 20’s, 5’6”, med build, wearing a black balaclava & black parka.

#2: Native in appearance, 30-40 yrs, 5’6”, med build, red or tan toque, glasses, wearing light colored parka.


Armed Robbery

At approx 1:23 AM, Sunday, January 18th a male suspect entered the vendor of the Quality Inn, 635 Pembina Hwy. The suspect was armed with a handgun and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries. The suspect is described as Caucasian, 5’10”, med build, wearing a black balaclava & black clothing.


Armed Robbery

At approx 2:02 AM, Sunday, January 18th a male suspect entered the 7-11 store at 772 Mountain. The suspect was armed with a handgun and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of money and lottery tickets. There were no injuries. The suspect is described as Caucasian, mid 20’s, 5’9”, average build, mustache and goatee, wearing sunglasses, white toque and white and navy ski jacket.
 

Armed Robbery

At approx 3:57AM, Sunday, January 18th a male suspect entered the 7-11 store at 1370 Main. The suspect was armed with a handgun and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries. The suspect is believed to be the same suspect from the afore mentioned robbery.
