Homicide Investigations – Public Assistance Requested

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit is requesting the public’s assistance regarding two unrelated homicides that occurred in February 2024. Since their initial releases, investigators are again reaching out to the public to help identify two persons of interest for one investigation and to locate a wanted individual for Second Degree Murder.

On February 3, 2024, the deceased 43-year-old Charles Danny CHARTRAND, was located at a residence in the 200 block of Fountain Street with critical injuries from being stabbed. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The Homicide Unit has continued to investigate and acquired surveillance images showing two individuals in the area. Investigators are asking the public to help identify these individuals as they may have valuable information to assist in this homicide investigation.

In April a warrant for Second Degree Murder was issued for 30-year-old Tyron Custer HARPER for the February 25th homicide of 26-year-old Kevin Delaney FLETT.

The deceased FLETT, a member of St. Theresa Point First Nation, was residing in Winnipeg when he was fatally injured in the area of Maryland Street and Wellington Avenue.  Police identified HARPER and have been searching for his whereabouts.

Do not approach HARPER, as he is considered dangerous.
