Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Border Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:26 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a monitored fire alarm in a two-storey commercial structure in the 1200 block of Border Street.

When crews arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames in the building. They entered and fought the fire from inside, declaring the fire under control at 7:46 p.m.

Crews completed a search of the structure and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental, caused by an overheated battery.
