Holiday Checkstop Program – Week 3 Results

The Checkstop Program is on the road for 2023 and will run through the month of December, including New Year’s Eve. Motorists can expect to see more police officers on the streets of Winnipeg enforcing Impaired Driving legislation.

Impaired driving is a contributing factor in nearly one-third of all traffic fatalities in Manitoba.

Our message is simple - if you're under the influence of alcohol or drugs, DON’T DRIVE.

Week 3:

  • 710 vehicles stopped and checked
  • 20 Immediate Roadside Driver’s licence Prohibitions
  • 2 Positive Oral Fluid Drug Tests (Cannabis)
  • 6 Impaired Operation related Criminal charges
  • 11 Traffic Offence Tickets

The Winnipeg Police Service would like everyone to have a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
