Homicide – Update: C23-268599

On December 11, 2023, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit charged an individual for the murder of 27-year-old Lawrence Evan PRUDEN that occurred on November 5, 2023.

As previously released, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the deceased PRUDEN and another 30-year-old male victim were shot after leaving an establishment in the 1800 block of Portage Avenue, and the suspects fled in a vehicle.

A 23-year-old male, Nathaniel GATEHOUSE-GILCHRIST, has been charged with the following offences and detained in custody.

- Second Degree Murder

- Attempt to Commit Murder

Investigators have identified a second suspect and request the public’s assistance in locating this individual.

WALKER is approximately 5’5” in height and approximately 140 lbs.

Do not approach WALKER as he may be armed.
