Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Wellington Crescent

Winnipeg, MB At 5:11 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a high-rise apartment in the 100 block of Wellington Crescent.

At the scene, crews saw heavy smoke in the building. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the building and brought the fire under control.

No injuries were reported. Most residents were able to return to their suites. Three suites sustained significant damage and the residents from those suites are temporarily displaced. The building sustained significant damage from smoke, fire, and water used to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
