Winnipeg, MB – The Pan Am Pool will temporarily close beginning July 30 for its regular seasonal maintenance shutdown, which is scheduled to occur until September 9, 2018. Concurrently, the Pool’s capital construction project also begins on July 30, 2018.
As part of the capital construction project, the facility’s 51-year-old ceiling, lighting, and public address system will be replaced to ensure that the Pan Am Pool remains a safe and enjoyable facility for many years to come.
After the regular maintenance shutdown period is completed in early September, City officials will work to keep sections of the facility open during construction when safe to do so.
To help minimize effects of the closure on sport clubs, swimming lesson participants, active living members, general use patrons and private service providers, the Public Service has worked to help find space at other pools for user groups with minimal impact to existing service while construction is ongoing. It is expected that the construction project work will take until the end of 2018 to complete.
