Plowing Update

Winnipeg received over 15 cm of heavy wet snow with the majority falling between midnight and 6:00 a.m. Spreaders salted roadways throughout the night to improve conditions.

Plows were deployed at midnight and worked through the night on the main routes. Sidewalk plows worked overnight in the Downtown area and will continue on the main routes throughout the day.

We are anticipating more snow accumulation today and we will be assessing the residential and back lane networks.

The City of Winnipeg has over 200 pieces of equipment deployed. Crews will be moving to the bus route/collector (Priority 2's) during the rush hour and then back to the main routes.

The declared snow route parking ban remains in effect until Wednesday March 7 at 7:00 a.m.
