Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service issue warning regarding theft of narcotics from ambulance

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) is advising the public that six vials of narcotics were stolen on Monday, November 27, 2017 at approximately 3:00 a.m., from an ambulance parked in the ambulance bays at the St. Boniface Hospital.

The medication, which is packaged in vials, consisted of:

  • Midazolam – two (2) vials
  • Fentanyl – four (4) vials

The WFPS is alerting the public that taking any amount of these drugs without medical supervision can be dangerous or fatal.

The incident has been reported to the Winnipeg Police Service and the investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

The WFPS is conducting an internal investigation of the incident.
