Public invited to bring their dogs to two City wading pools as aquatics facilities close for the season

Winnipeg, MB – City of Winnipeg outdoor aquatics facilities are beginning to close for the season, but just before they close, the City is inviting licenced dogs to enjoy two wading pools for a swim.

Happyland wading pool, 520 Marion Street, and Bruce Park wading pool, 1966 Portage Avenue, will host dogs to close out the 2017 aquatics season on September 2, 2017.

Both wading pools will welcome dogs under 30 pounds from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and dogs over 30 pounds from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. All dogs must have a valid City of Winnipeg licence. Registration is required; please contact 311 to register.

Spray pads
City of Winnipeg spray pads will remain open until Monday, September 4, 2017.

Outdoor pools
Non-heated outdoor pools close September 1. The following outdoor pools will remain open until Monday, September 4:

  • Fort Garry Lion’s Outdoor Pool
  • Kildonan Park Outdoor Pool
  • Westdale Outdoor Pool
  • Freight House Outdoor Pool
  • St. Vital Outdoor Pool
  • Transcona Kinsmen Centennial Outdoor Pool

Wading pools
A number of City of Winnipeg wading pools will begin closing as of August 23; however, there will continue to be opportunities to enjoy some of them for another week.

The following wading pools will remain open until Monday, September 4:

  • Cordova Park
  • Dakota Park
  • Ducharme Park
  • Keenleyside Park
  • Machray Park
  • McKittrick Park
  • Shaughnessy Park
  • Sturgeon Heights Community Centre Wading Pool
  • Vimy Ridge Memorial Park
  • West Kildonan Community Centre
  • Westdale Park
