Winnipeg, MB - Committed to developing a pedestrian and cycling network that is safe and accessible for people of all ages and abilities, the City of Winnipeg is inviting Winnipeggers to help shape plans for Walk Bike projects connecting St. Boniface and St. Vital through an online survey and open houses.
Southeast Corridor
The Southeast Corridor Study and Design will be the basis for a north-south cycling and walking corridor in southeast Winnipeg around Des Meurons Street and St.George Road. Options that are being explored include protected bike lanes and other traffic calming measures like speed tables and traffic circles. The section of Rue Des Meurons between Vivian Avenue and Regal Avenue is anticipated to be renewed in 2017.
Seine River Crossing
The goal of the Seine River Crossing study is to identify a preferred location for a new pedestrian and cycling crossing over the river, between Provencher Blvd. and Bishop Grandin Blvd.
