Bulletin #1: City of Winnipeg weather related service updates

Winnipeg, MB - Due to winter weather conditions, some City of Winnipeg departments are experiencing service delays and interruptions.

Winnipeg Transit and Handi Transit

  • Due to weather conditions, Winnipeg Transit is experiencing delays and we recommend that Transit users allow for extra travel time.
  • We remind Transit users to check their schedule before travelling.
  • For route and schedule information, please visit winnipegtransit.com or contact 311, open 24 hours every day, by phone at 311 or by email at
  • Handi Transit clients are being asked to please cancel any non-essential trips planned for today by calling 204-986-5722. Clients should stay on the line if they need to speak to an agent.

Water and Waste

  • Recycling and garbage collection is expected to be delayed due to accumulations of snow.
  • If today is your collection day, please leave your carts out until they’re collected.

  • Brady Road Resource Management Facility is open and operating as normal.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service

  • Adverse weather conditions affect travel times for all vehicles on the road, including emergency vehicles. WFPS is currently experiencing longer response times.
  • To help improve response times today, four extra ambulances will be in service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Response times are being monitored and additional resources will be placed on duty if necessary.
