Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service fire response update: Dugald Road

Released: October 13, 2016 at 6 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB - Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service is advising motorists and residents that due to an ongoing fire response at a commercial business in the 3000 block of Dugald Road, traffic on Dugald has temporarily been reduced to one lane between Plessis Road and the east Perimeter.

Traffic is being controlled on scene by Winnipeg Police Service cadets. Vehicles can still travel both east and west on Dugald but motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and to allow for extra travel time if they must travel on Dugald.

Residents in the area near the fire are advised that there is no risk from the small amount of smoke being produced by the fire. The smoke is the result of compressed grain that is smoldering.

An update will be issued via the City of Winnipeg’s Twitter and Facebook accounts following the reopening the closed lane on Dugald.
