Winnipeggers invited to take advantage of the Winnipeg ReLeaf Program

Released: July 28, 2016 at 11:01 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB - This year, up to 700 Winnipeg property owners can participate in the Winnipeg ReLeaf program which is designed to provide Winnipeg homeowners with quality, affordable trees for their property. For just $55 each, homeowners receive the tree collection(s) of their choice, along with all the supplies and support they need to give their new trees a healthy start. Trees will be available to registered participants at a tree planting workshop in September where homeowners will receive instructions on how to plant and care for their trees in the long term.

The Winnipeg ReLeaf program is intended to help property owners replace trees lost to Dutch elm disease and other diseases, insect pests and other urban stresses. All residential homeowners in Winnipeg may order up to four tree packages for their property.

More information, including the order form for the Winnipeg ReLeaf program, is available at: www.savetheelms.mb.ca/projects/reLeaf.php. The deadline to register is September 1.
