Reminder: Tomorrow is By-Election day

Winnipeg, MB - Tomorrow is By-Election Day for School Trustees in the School Divisions of River East Transcona (Ward 3), St. James-Assiniboia (King Edward-Deer Lodge Ward) and Louis Riel (Ward 2). Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Eligible voters must vote at the designated voting locations within the School Division in which they reside, as identified on their Voters Notice. Eligible voters who did not receive a Voters Notice can vote at their designated voting place and take an Oath prior to voting. All voters are required to present identification.

To find out your specific voting location on By-Election Day:

  • Check your Voters Notice (the designated voting location can be found in the large purple box and additional opportunities appear on the left hand column); or
  • Go to the 2016 By-Election website at winnipeg.ca/2016byelection and click on ‘WHERE DO I VOTE?” and type in your address. The information will be located under ELECTION DAY POLL; or
  • Call 311.

Identification Requirements

All voters are reminded that they are required to bring identification, such as a driver’s license, which shows name and current address, when they come to vote. If a voter does not have valid government issued photo identification that shows their name and current address, two documents that together prove name and current address will be required.
