Skywalk between Delta Winnipeg and RBC Convention Centre to be temporarily closed on December 17

Released: December 15, 2015 at 1:50 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB - The public is advised that the skywalk between the Delta Winnipeg and RBC Convention Centre will be temporarily closed on Thursday, December 17 to remove temporary shoring that was placed under the walkway during recent construction.

To accommodate the removal of shoring, a temporary lane closure will be required for a section of the west curb lane of Carlton Street between St. Mary Avenue and York Avenue.

Both the skywalk and west curb lane of Carlton Street will reopen the morning of December 18.

With removal of the shoring, all structural work on the skywalk has been completed. Cosmetic repairs to the skywalk are tentatively scheduled to commence summer 2016.

The City would like to thank citizens and patrons of the Delta Winnipeg Hotel and RBC Winnipeg Convention Centre for their co-operation and patience during skywalk construction.
