Released: August 10, 2015 at 10:52 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB - Work will begin Monday, August 17 on upgrades to the Pan Am Pool parking lot. As part of these improvements, 104 new parking stalls will be added to the lot, and a number of amenities will be upgraded. Construction is scheduled to be completed in November 2015.

Planned upgrades also include:

  • New sidewalks, medians, curbing, gutters, paving stones and asphalt
  • Landscaping improvements
  • Installation of LED parking lot lighting
  • New fencing and signage

Preparations for construction will begin the week of August 10 as existing trees are removed. These trees will be replaced and additional landscape improvements will be added as construction progresses.

Work will be carried out strategically in an effort to minimize the impact to pool patrons. Sections of the parking lot will remain open and accessible to patrons during construction, although users and user groups should be aware of some parking redirection, including groups using school buses. Signage for these redirections will be clear on-site. Patrons can also contact 311 by phone at 311 or by email at to request updated information about parking accommodations during construction at the Pan Am Pool.
