Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and Winnipeg Police Service are reminding residents to be cautious around ice-covered bodies of water including rivers, streams, creeks, ponds and ditches.
As spring arrives and temperatures warm, ice will begin to melt on all open bodies of water, creating extremely dangerous conditions.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service received 50 water and ice safety calls in 2013.
