Winnipeg, MB - City of Winnipeg crews started snow clearing operations at 11:00 p.m. last night, Wednesday, February 12, 2014, to deal with the accumulation of snow that has been falling on city streets.
In keeping with Council's policy, the following will occur:
Priority 1 streets (regional) - Grader plowing operations will continue to improve network conditions. Sanding operations are ongoing and will continue.
Priority 2 streets (bus/collector routes) - Grader Plowing Operations have commenced and will continue on the collector/bus route network in combination with the Regional Network. Sanding operations are ongoing and will continue.
Priority 3 streets (residential) - Monitoring residential road network conditions. Areas prone to drifting are monitored and will continue to be addressed with spot plowing services and sand spreading as and where required.
Priority 1, 2 and 3 sidewalks - Full sidewalk plowing/blowing operation of the P1, P2 and P3 sidewalk network through to the completion of the entire network began today, Thursday, February 13, at 7:00 a.m.
Back lanes - Monitoring lane conditions, responding to 311 requests as required. The back lane clearing operation will commence Friday, February 14, 2014, at 7:00 a.m.
Citizens are urged to use caution in and around these winter equipment operations.
Citizens are reminded that the Declared Snow Route Parking Ban remains in effect on streets designated as snow routes from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. until further notice.
