Winnipeg, MB - Today, Mayor Sam Katz and City Councillors joined members of Winnipeg’s arts community at a reception to celebrate the city’s arts, culture and heritage scene.

“All of Winnipeg can be proud of our reputation as a cultural centre in Canada,” said Mayor Katz. “Our art is a reflection of our heritage and who we are as a community. Winnipeg’s arts and cultural community continues to produce work that entertains, educates and enlightens.”

The Mayor and Councillors welcomed to City Hall representatives of Manitobans for the Arts, formerly known as Manitoba Arts and Cultural Alliance, a group founded to bring people together to promote arts, culture, heritage and creativity in the province.
