Winnipeg, MB - Today, Member of Parliament for Elmwood - Transcona, Lawrence Toet joined City Councillor Russ Wyatt (Transcona ward) in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a raising of the Rotary flag to celebrate the completion of Phase 2 of the Rotary Heritage Park revitalization.

Also joining in the official celebration were representatives from the Winnipeg Transcona Rotary Club and the Canadian National Railway.

“It has been a pleasure to work with the members of Rotary Club over the past few years, and to now see the completion of this project,” said City Councillor Russ Wyatt. “Their dedication and commitment to our community is second to none.”

Phases 1 and 2 of the park’s revitalization included drainage of the lands, construction of entranceway features, a community garden, a new play structure, a parking area adjacent to the Transcona Trail, the planting of trees and re-seeding of grass.

A new pathway constructed as part of the revitalization program also connects Rotary Heritage Park to Rotary Centennial Park.
