Winnipeg, MB - The 2014 General Assessment Notices have been mailed. Property owners should start receiving their Notices over the next few days.
Provincial legislation requires the market value of all properties to be updated every 2 years. This process is commonly referred to as a General Assessment.
“The 2012 General Assessment will result in an average City-wide market value increase of about 12% for all properties” said Mel Chambers, Director, Assessment and Taxation Department. “The overall increase in the 2014 Assessment Roll continues to show a steady and moderate growth in the Winnipeg real estate market over the past couple years”, said Chambers.
The updated market values resulting from the 2014 General Assessment will not be used for taxation purposes until 2014.
