Conditions on city's waterways are hazardous due to elevated water levels, ice flows and debris

Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg Police Service and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service are urging citizens to take extreme caution around bodies of water (rivers, streams, creeks, ditches, retention ponds), and to stay away from roads that are flooded from overflowing creeks and streams.

Conditions on the city's waterways are extremely hazardous at this time due to elevated water levels, ice flows and debris.

In the interest of public safety, all City of Winnipeg boat launches are closed and citizens are advised to avoid all boating activities on any bodies of water within the City of Winnipeg, including/especially the Red, Assiniboine and Seine rivers.
