City launches children's art contest for covers of Fall 2013 Leisure Guide and Priceless Fun brochure

Contest open to artists aged six to 12 years of age

Winnipeg, MB - The City of Winnipeg Community Services Department is calling on all artists, aged six to 12 years, to sharpen their pencils and get out their paint sets, as part of a new art contest to find cover images for the 2013 Fall Leisure Guide and Priceless Fun brochure.

Children are encouraged to collage, colour, draw, doodle, paint or sketch a picture that represents their favourite recreational activity or experience. The first and second place winners will have their artwork featured on the cover of the Fall 2013 Leisure Guide and Priceless Fun brochure.

The top three winners will also receive a City of Winnipeg Family Outdoor Pool Pass for the 2013 season.

How to Enter Contest

Artwork should be sent (flat not folded), along with a brief written story and a completed and signed entry form, to:

Digital files can be submitted by emailing a PDF to artcontest@winnipeg.ca (minimum 300 dpi). Contest rules and an entry form can be found on page 8 of the 2013 Spring/Summer Leisure Guide or by visiting Winnipeg.ca.

The deadline for submission is Wednesday, May 1, 2013.

Winners will be publically announced through a City of Winnipeg news release and on the City’s Facebook and Twitter accounts on Friday, June 14, 2013.
