Corydon Avenue, man hole collapsed, Wilton Street, Rockwood Street, closed

The catch basin on the south side of Corydon Avenue between Wilton Street and Rockwood Street, and the pipe that runs from the catch basin to the sewer manhole, collapsed yesterday causing a very large void in the centre of the street.

Work underway to replace catch basin and manhole

WINNIPEG - April 26, 2012 - The catch basin on the south side of Corydon Avenue between Wilton Street and Rockwood Street, and the pipe that runs from the catch basin to the sewer manhole, collapsed yesterday causing a very large void in the centre of the street.

The east and westbound lanes on Corydon Avenue were closed last night because the street is not safe. The lanes will remain closed until the repair is complete.

Transit Routes 18 NORTH MAIN and 18 CORYDON are being re-routed due to the pavement repairs. For re-route information visit winnipegtransit.com or call 311.

Sewer service to area residents is not affected.

It is expected that the catch basin and pavement repairs could be complete by late Monday, April 30, 2012.
