Traffic on Sherbrook Street reduced to one lane in both directions

WINNIPEG - March 21, 2012 - The public is advised that the southbound lanes on Sherbrook Street have been temporarily closed to traffic between Elgin Avenue and William Avenue due to collapsed excavation shoring at the Health Sciences Centre worksite. Traffic on Sherbrook Street has been reduced to one lane in the northbound direction, and one lane in the southbound direction at this time. The shoring failure compromised the west sidewalk and southbound lanes on Sherbrook Street which resulted in the lane closure.

The lane closures will remain in effect through rush hour traffic today.

Motorists are urged to allow additional travel time, and to use Balmoral Street and Arlington Street as alternative routes while the temporary road closure is in place.

Transit service remains on regular route. Please check www.winnipegtransit.com for further routing updates.

More information will be provided to the public as it becomes available.
