Major Snowfall Parking Ban Lifted

The City of Winnipeg wishes to advise motorists that the Major Snowfall Parking Ban on Snow Routes was lifted at 6:01 a.m. today, December 17, 2008. (for more details, please read the full media release below)

WINNIPEG - December 17, 2008 – The City of Winnipeg wishes to advise motorists that the Major Snowfall Parking Ban on Snow Routes was lifted at 6:01 a.m. today, December 17, 2008.

However, motorists are reminded that the annual Snow Route Overnight Parking Ban, that went into effect on December 1, 2008, remains until March 1, 2009. The public should note that if they park a vehicle on a street designated as a Snow Route, that vehicle must be moved by 2:00 a.m.

For up to date information about parking bans, citizens may call 775-SNOW (775-7669) or go to www.winnipeg.ca/publicworks  for more information. Individuals may also sign-up online for the City of Winnipeg’s e-mail notification process regarding parking bans.
